10 Ways To Reduce Your Stress Levels.

by - May 01, 2018

We all know how difficult and stressful our lives can get and we are always looking for new ways to relax and just take a moment to think about ourselves and what is going on. So today lovelies, I have put together a little list of 10 different ways you can minimize your stress levels so you can start a healthier, happier lifestyle.

I myself, have been super stressed lately and it has gotten so bad that it's even messing with my body and my cycle and i thought to myself screw this, is anything worth getting this worked up over? And the answer to that question was in fact, no. So I have recently been giving myself some tlc and just focusing on making my life that little bit easier, and this is how I done it and how you can do it too.

1) THINK ABOUT WHY YOU'RE FEELING THIS WAY AND CREATE A SOLUTION.
Too much work to do and such little time to do it? People in your life that want to get you down? Exams, Assignments? STOP! Give yourself a five minute breather and think to yourself, it might be this way now but it won't be this way forever. If you can optimize your time to fit your lifestyle and plan everything you need to do and how much time you have to do it, then you will instantly feel a weight lifted off your shoulder. Get yourself a planner, or even an appointment book and slot everything you have to do into it. Time management skills are everything.

2) BLOCK OUT THE NEGATIVITY AND THE SOURCE.If there are people in your life that just want to see you down in the dumps and feeling like crap, they do not deserve to be in your life, regardless of who they are. The cleaner the air is around you, the cleaner you will feel. So put them to the side and don't think about them, try to find a way to minimize contact and just focus on yourself. The more energy you have for yourself, the less you will feel the need to have energy from other people around you.

3) TAKE A BATH.
This is my personal favorite, and we all get it. So honey, run yourself a nice hot bath, grab the book you've been wanting to read, listen to your favorite podcast, or even just listen to some music that you like. Light a scented candle, turn off the lights and simply just breathe, let yourself go. I can promise you'll feel a lot more relived when you get out than you did getting in.

4) PAMPER YOURSELF,
Get your self a face mask, or some new nail polish or even some new hair masks and just indulge in your own beauty, you are your best self so embrace it. We might not feel beautiful some times, but we are and some times the only way to believe it is to tell yourself.

5) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU HAPPY.
If you have friends that you haven't seen in a while who really bring out the best in you, go see them or invite them over for a coffee and a chat, or even a glass of wine and a girls night in watching the notebook and doing each others hair. Do what makes you happy and surrounding yourself with people who have a positive energy will rub off on you and lift your mood completely.

6) SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL.
Talk to someone, you never know maybe their going through the same thing as you and could offer you some advice on how to make the situation better, or even if you're a diary writer, write about it. Just to get that weight lifted off your chest. Find your personal therapy and what works best for you.

7) GO FOR A NAP.
Take an hour to just unwind and have a little sleep, Studies show that 20 minutes of sleep in the afternoon provides more rest than 20 minutes more sleep in the morning (though the last two hours of morning sleep have special benefits of their own). The more rested you feel, the better you feel.

8) DISCONNECT FROM YOUR PHONE FOR A WHILE.
Disconnecting yourself from your phone can actually really help you, i know it sound torturous as we are all so adapt to having our mobiles accessible to us whenever we need them but if you feel like the phone is the main cause of your stress, switch it off and do something else to keep your mind occupied.

9) LEARN TO APPRECIATE THE LITTLE THINGS.
This might not be as obvious as some of the others, but developing an attitude of gratitude (I sound like a preacher with that rhyme!) is a way of thinking positive, eliminating negative thinking from your life, and thereby reducing stress. Learn to be grateful for what you have, for the people in your life, and see it as a gift. With this sort of outlook on life, stress will go down and happiness will go up. That’s a winning formula.

10) GO OUTSIDE
Go out and spend time with nature at every possible opportunity; whether for a holiday or simply on a lunch-break at work. See nature for what it really is by experiencing the beauty that resides within every flower, insect, and shrub. Moreover, take time to breathe in the peaceful harmony that thrives in every corner of your environment. Do you see the ease at which nature moves and flows? Now become a part of what you see and allow all your stresses to simply wash away.

I really hope these tips and tricks help you to embrace yourself and help you to reduce any unnecessary stress or worries you may have.
